Billy Beane (Brad Pitt), the head of the 'Oakland A' baseball team, challenges the wealthy clubs by creating a team out of nothing with a limited budget. However, in doing so, he shakes the fundamental beliefs of the baseball sport. Even though his methods are not accepted and are even considered madness, Beane continues to move forward in the direction he knows without losing his belief and determination.
Directed by Bennett Miller, who was nominated for Best Director at the Oscars in 2005 for his first film, "Capote," "Moneyball" is his second feature film. The film is based on the book "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game" by Michael Lewis and adapted by Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin. The lead roles are played by Brad Pitt, Robin Wright, and Jonah Hill.
The film had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, and the reviews and ratings from abroad have been quite high.
