Jesse, an American writer, and Celine, a French woman, meet on a train traveling from Budapest to Vienna. Although they are attracted to each other, they decide to leave it at that. Nine years later, Jesse, who is in France for the promotion of his new book, meets Celine in Paris just before his flight takes off. They spend a couple of hours wandering around the city, discussing things they never had the chance to before, and growing closer. Richard Linklater's internationally acclaimed film is yet another journey into the nature of human relationships, which the writer/director always seems to enjoy exploring. With its clever and captivating dialogue, the film hypnotizes its audience.
