"Labor Day", 13-year-old Henry Wheeler's story revolves around his struggle to deal with the challenges of adolescence while also trying to be the man of the house and take care of his reclusive mother, Adele. During a shopping trip for school supplies, Henry and his mother encounter Frank Chambers, a both intimidating and vulnerable man in need of help. Eventually, they discover that Frank is a fugitive, but he manages to convince the mother and son to let him stay with them. The events that unfold over the long Labor Day weekend will shape the rest of their lives.
